Holy Man Hasn't Eaten or Drank For 70 Years

A holy man in India claims that he didn’t eat or drink for 70 years and lives without any kind of food or water. He claims to have been blessed by a goddess when he was 8-years-old, which has enabled him to survive without sustenance. But who is going to believe that right? Normally, people die within days if they didn’t eat or drink, how this person could survive all these years without essential minerals and water?

To test that claim, over 30 specialists and doctors in India put the holy man to test. The long-haired and bearded yogi is under 24-hour observation in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad. Two cameras have been set up in his room, while a mobile camera films him when he goes outside, guaranteeing round-the-clock observation.

Since the experiment began on April 22, Jani has had no food or water and has not been to the toilet. This tells us that the claim is correct, and this man has really some kind of un-natural power.

“The observation from this study may throw light on human survival without food and water,” said Dr. G. Ilavazahagan, who is directing the research. “This may help in working out strategies for survival during natural calamities, extreme stressful conditions and extra-terrestrial explorations like future missions to the Moon and Mars by the human race.”

This is still un-solved mystery, and the researchers are still evaluating Jani’s situation to learn more about how the body functions without food.

This is a miraculous story where an Indian holy man claims that he has been surviving without any kind of food and water from the past 70 years. Prahlad Jani is the 83-year old sadhu's name who lives in a cave near Ambaji Temple, near Abu Road railway station, Gujarat without any kind of food or water. Mr. Jani claims that he has left his home at the age of seven, searching for spiritual mystery, and at the age of eleven years, he was blessed by holy goddess Amba. Ever since that blessing, Prahlad Jani claims that he lives without food and water as he has gained his sustenance from the nectar that filters down through a hole in his palate. He also says that he did not speak for a period of 45 years.

Doctors Examined Prahlad Jani

A group of doctors researched into this case twice, first time in Nov 2003 for six days and second time in April 2010 for fifteen days, both at the Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad, India. They put the sadhu under 24 hour observation in front of cameras and found out that he did not take any kind of food or water in the 15 days that he was in hospital. And he did not pass urine or stool. The doctors were completely surprised at this miracle.

They said, “During the tests we found that in Prahalad Jani’s bladder, the amount of liquid fluctuates even when he does not pass urine. We did blood tests for haematology, biochemistry, hormone profile and the reports were in the pre-determined safety range throughout the observation period as per the protocol”.

Further, they said “we have confirmed the claim over 15 days only and we as scientists and responsible doctors cannot say anything regarding validity of the claim of his sustaining without food, drinks, urination and excretion of stools over several years.”

The first video shows the observation of sadhu Prahlad Jani in Sterling hospital and the doctors' response on his research. The second video shows the Discovery channel's documentary evidence about a similar case of Buddha Boy Ram Bahadur Bomjon, where the present case of Prahlad Jani is also documented.

How is it Possible

We believe that the sadhu Prahlad Jani's body went through biological transformation as a result of meditation and powerful yoga in a completely natural environment that he stays. The sadhu's abnormally big hole of palate from which he receives his energy for sustenance implies the same. This sounds out of science, but things like this are well explained in ancient Hindu vedas, in terms of meditation and yoga practices. The practice of living without food and water is attributed to one form of chakra called Amrita Chakra or Soma Chakra. Chakra is a spiritual Indian concept which states that human body is a center of spiritual power having certain number of points that act as a source of endless coiled energy. Amrita chakra is located in the forehead, above the nose bridge(believed to be located in the shadow of the third eye). Prolonged meditation on this Amrita chakra for years can stimulate it and produce a divine nectar(fluid) or amrit which falls down for distribution throughout the entire bodily system. As a result of this, the person can survive without food and water. This process not only calms down all kinds of emotions, but also slows down aging.

It is to be noted that there can be many such people whom we do not know, who live without eating and drinking any kind of food or water, especially in the Himalayan regions, because yogis lead an isolated life and do not like to be highlighted. Giri Bala is another Indian woman who is believed to have survived without food and water.
