Chyawanprash: The World's Oldest Brand

What would you say if I asked you to name the oldest brand in the world? The oldest brand in the world is one that has been in continuous use in India since the Vedic period.
It is called Chyawanprash, and is attributed to a revered Rishi (seer) named Chyawan. It was developed at Dhosi Hill, the site of a highly religious extinct volcano in Northern India.

Chyawanprash is an herbal paste made from sugar, honey, Triphala, ghee, sesame oil, berries and other naturally available herbs and spices. It is prepared as per the instructions suggested in Ayurvedic methods of preventing diseases. It has a high concentration of vitamin C and claims a wide array of health benefits.

Various Indian holy books like Mahabharat, Puranas etc., relate that the 'Royal Vaids', named 'Ashwini Kumar brothers', the twins, who were medical advisers to Devas during Vedic times (10,000 years ago), first prepared this formulation for Chyawan Rishi at his Ashram on Dhosi Hill near Narnaul, Haryana, India, hence the name Chyawanprash. The first historically documented formula for chywanprash appears in Charaka Samhita, the ancient Ayurvedic treatise

This brand has been in continuous use for about 3,000 years. Chyawanprash sales generate about $80 million a year in India.  Chyawanprash in India is marketed through the top film stars and sports persons like Amitabh Bacchan, Shahrukh Khan, Sourav Ganguly, M.S.Dhoni, SRK, Dhoni, Ravi Kishan do wonders for chyawanprash.
