Astralaya - Real name of Australia

Astralaya - real name of Australia origionated from Sanskrit
P N Oaks, in his book World Vedic Culture, points out that the aborigines of Austrailia have their origin in what are popularly known as the Dravidian races of South India. The recent study of Dr Raghavendra Rao from the Anthropological Survey of India, says that DNA evidence linking Indian tribes to Australian Aboriginal people points to the fact that humans arrived in Australia via a southern coastal route through India. His team used computer programs to predict that a common ancestor existed, between the Indian population and Aboriginal Australians, up to 50,000 years ago.

Ramayana and Mahabharata are most sacred epics of India. The heroes of both epics are worshipped like Gods. The weapons they used are called as 'Astras' and the dramatizations of these epics shows the warrior invoking divine powers into his arrow to convert it into an Astra. When unleashed, it causes the maximum destruction, something matched only by a nuclear explosion.

The word 'Australia' has no meaning in any other language but in Sanskrit. During the times of Ramayana and Mahabharata, Australia was known as 'Astralaya'. (astra + alaya - meaning The home of the Weapons) similar as Himalaya (Him + Alaya - meaning the home of Ice in Sanskrit)

Ancient Indian used this isolated island as the testing ground of their Astras. The radiation in that place was so intense that it resulted in the evolution (mutation) of some of the unusual creatures that you don't find anywhere else in the world. That is why the central part of Australia is all deserts and nothing grows there.

It is possible that a structure mentioned in the Indian Scripture, the Ramayana, is really the Gympie Pyramid located close to Brisbane in Australia.

In Ramayan, King Sugriv directs his men in all directions in search of Sita, the wife of King Rama (who ruled India from the city of Ayodhya), after she is abducted by Ravana, the king of the mighty Lanka kingdom. Of the places mentioned along the route that the search party headed east of India is to take, the first one that is easily identifiable is Java. It is referred to as 'Yava Dvipam' (or the Yava Island). Here is the actual verse from the Valmiki Ramayana (4-40-30).
यत्नवन्तो यव द्वीपम् सप्त राज्य उपशोभितम् |
सुवर्ण रूप्यकम् द्वीपम् सुवर्ण आकर मण्डितम् || 4-40-30
Translation:
"You strive hard in the island of Yava, which will be splendorous with seven kingdoms, like that even in Golden and Silver islands that are enwreathed with gold-mines, in and around Yava islands. [4-40-30]
The only land that one can reach after crossing an ocean further east of Java and Indonesia is Australia and the Polynesian Islands beyond it. Then Sage Vyasa (Author of ramayana) mention about a gigantic, peak like structure' resembling 'Kailasha'. (Verse 4-40-40). This structure is possibly the Gympie Pyramid unless there is another 'peak' like ancient structure in this huge area. The Gympie pyramid site in Queensland is about 120 Km away from Fraser island. The author then also says that after one passes this gigantic structure, one will see a shore which is white and shaped like a necklace. This is probably the coast off the shores of Brisbane.

According to the Ramayana, The peak like structure, was built by Vishwakarma, a 'celestial' architect, responsible for the construction of many gigantic cities and structures around the world.
